THE ROUTINE

Fewer Steps. Better Skin.

DottSkin skincare range is specially developed for oily, congested and acne-prone skin types.
The collection is formulated with carefully selected ingredients, with salicylic acid as a key active.

Salicylic acid is widely used in skincare for oily and congested skin because it is oil-soluble, allowing it to help support the appearance of clearer-looking pores and smoother-looking skin texture.

The DottSkin cleanser, moisturiser and facial oil combine skin-friendly ingredients such as panthenol, niacinamide and green tea extract, which are known for their soothing, balancing and skin conditioning properties.

Your skin’s quick fix is just below — 3 simple steps for busy, overworked skin.

step 01.

Wash It Off

FACE CLEANSER

When introducing skincare with active ingredients such as salicylic acid for the first time, we recommend starting slowly. Use the cleanser every second or third night and gradually increase usage to nightly application as your skin becomes comfortable. Once your skin has adjusted, the cleanser can also be introduced into the morning routine if desired. When using active ingredients such as salicylic acid, daily sun protection is strongly recommended as part of your skincare routine.

step 02.

Cream It Up

FACE MOISTURISER

Cream it up moisturiser contains 0.4% salicylic acid, a low and gentle concentration that is well-suited for everyday skincare, especially in a moisturising formula where it is supported by other hydrating ingredients. For most skin types, it can be used daily from the start. However, if your skin is sensitive or you are new to exfoliating acids, we recommend introducing it gradually by using it every second day at first. This allows your skin to build tolerance comfortably. You may increase to daily use once your skin is comfortable. On clean-dry skin apply a generous amount as the final step in your skincare routine. Follow with daily sun protection during the day.

step 03.

Balance It Up

FACE OIL

Use every night. Apply 1–2 drops to the face after cleansing and before moisturiser. Alternatively, 1–2 drops can be mixed into your moisturiser for added nourishment. Morning use is recommended for very oily skin.

Simple. Intentional. Effective

about

Purging

When introducing active skincare ingredients such as salicylic acid, some people may notice a temporary change in how their skin looks. This is sometimes referred to as “purging” and can happen as your skin adjusts to a new routine. It is usually short-term and should settle as your skin becomes more balanced over time. If you are unsure about how your skin is responding, we recommend introducing new products slowly and observing how your skin feels.

what is purging

Often Called Skin Purging

Purging is when your skin temporarily breaks out after starting certain skincare products that increase skin cell turnover. What’s happening: Products that increase cell turnover can bring clogged pores (such as blackheads and micro-comedones) to the surface more quickly than usual. This may look like a sudden breakout but it is often your skin’s natural congestion coming to the surface sooner. Common triggers: Purging is most often caused by ingredients such as retinoids (e.g. retinol) chemical exfoliants (AHAs, BHAs like salicylic acid) and some acne-focused skincare treatments.
